Taitat Changlin Pipeline Technology (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd. (TTCL) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a field hot tapping operation on a DN500 (OD 508 mm) natural gas pipeline using the TTCL 508 B-Type split sleeve system.
The project involved a pressurized natural gas transmission line, where uninterrupted flow was a critical operational requirement. To meet this challenge, a hot tapping solution was selected to ensure safe, efficient, and non-intrusive pipeline connection without shutting down the system.
Using the TTCL B-Type sleeve designed specifically for OD 508 mm pipelines, the installation team performed precision alignment and sealing under live pipeline conditions. The hot tapping procedure enabled the creation of a new branch connection while maintaining full system integrity and pressure stability.
Throughout the operation, strict hot tapping safety protocols were followed, including pressure monitoring, leak prevention checks, and controlled cutting execution. The hot tapping machine performed smoothly, achieving a clean coupon cut and secure isolation of the new connection point.
The successful hot tapping execution on this natural gas line once again demonstrates TTCL’s technical capability in hot tapping, live pipeline intervention, and engineered split sleeve solutions for critical energy infrastructure.
This project further highlights the reliability of hot tapping technology in pipeline maintenance and expansion scenarios, especially for high-demand natural gas applications where downtime is not an option.
TTCL will continue to advance its hot tapping technologies and provide safe, efficient, and field-proven solutions for global pipeline operators.
